Individual sellers deliver bottles that they wish to sell to our office. Once they have been authenticated, the bottles are listed on the website in the next auction. Wine Auctioneer hosts wine auctions on a frequent basis, during which registered users can bid on the bottles. The highest bidder at the close of the auction is then notified and asked for payment. The seller receives payment within 21 working days of the end of the auction.
The value of a bottle of wine is constantly fluctuating according to supply and demand. Wine Auctioneer can provide a valuation according to the latest market trends. If you would like a valuation, email a description of the wine you have along with a photo to email@example.com. All valuations are free of charge.
To sell your wine you will need to register on Wine Auctioneer and then either deliver or post your bottle(s) to Wine Auctioneer; we do the rest! All the information you need to sell your whisky can be found on our Selling Wine page.
There is a £5 listing fee per lot. Once a bottle is sold, sellers pay a 5% commission on the final sale price.
If you wish to place a reserve on an item there is a fee of £5 per lot.
VAT is additional to all charges.
All wines advertised on our website must be at our office at least one week before the start of the auction in which they will be listed. If you are unable to bring the bottle to us, we can organise a collection or you can post the bottle. Our address is:
West Building, Ruthvenfield Grove
Inveralmond Industrial Estate
Our office is open Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00. If you would like to collect outwith these hours please contact us to arrange, particularly at the weekends.
The end date of the current auction will always be clearly displayed on the orange notification bar at the foot of the website.
Our auctions will end anytime from 7pm (BST). Once 7pm is reached activity on any item will prolong the ENTIRE auction by a further 2 minutes.
The entire auction will end when there has been no activity placed within the last two minutes after 7pm and can take between 2.5 and 3.5 hours to end.
You can submit as many bottles as you like.
Wine Auctioneer reserves the right to restrict, in the case of particularly old releases from a single seller, to one bottle per auction.
Sellers are paid within 21 business days from the end of an auction, however payment is only completed if the buyer has paid us.
Payment is made by direct bank transfer and can take a few days to show in your account.
Any banking charges or exchange rates are paid for by the seller.
If your item fails to meet a reserve price, we still require the listing fee and reserve fee be paid. We will then offer you a chance to re-list the item or discuss returning the bottle to you.
Wine Auctioneer has many years experience in the wine and auction industries and we would be happy to provide you with a valuation.
Estimates are provided using recent auction sale prices online and in-house.
For a free valuation please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01738 245 576.
A photograph of the items may be required.
