Pierre Richard "Vin Jaune" 1990 Côtes Du Jura

A unique wine from the relatively unknown region of the Côtes Du Jura in eastern France.  Vin Jaune (literally, Yellow Wine) is made by firstly picking Chardonnay and Savagnin grapes at absolute ripeness with high sugar content, fermenting then ageing the wine in Burgundian barrels for a number of years.  During this extended ageing period, some of the wine evaporates and both residual yeast cells create a tangy flor and the wine undergoes a natural oxidation.  The result is something akin to a mixed style of sherries and yet simultaneously unlike any other wine produced anywhere.

This bottle is in excellent condition: label & foil/wax seal intact; cork/closure secure, no leakage.

Important Notice

We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.

Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
