Chateau Chasse-Spleen 1996 Moulis-En-Medoc 6x150cl / Original Wooden Case
Located uphill from Margaux, in the Bordeaux appellation of Moulis-En-Medoc, Château Chasse-Spleen was one of only 9 estates selected for the (now defunct) classification of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel - proof of its common regard as being one of the very best of the non-1855 Classified wine estates of Bordeaux.
Chasse-Spleen is typically a blend of 65-75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25-30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot; however, prior to vineyard changes in the mid-1990s, Cabernet Sauvignon was far less dominant and Cabernet Franc was also included. Maturation takes place in French Oak barrels (40% new oak) for 12-18 months.
Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation. Indeed, this is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a mature case of quality Bordeaux.
Please note there shall be a shipping charge for 12 bottles applied to this lot.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
