Florio 1840 Marsala Superiore
Along with Port and Sherry, Marsala - from the Italian island of Sicily - is a fortified wine; all three are made in similar processes: base wines fermented, fortified with grape spirit, then matured and blended in various methods.
This bottle from the iconic estate of Florio, was bottled from an in-perpetuum system of barrels (similar to the Solera & Criaderas system for ageing Sherry) established in 1840.
This bottle appears to be in excellent condition: label & foil/wax seal intact; cork/closure appears secure, no leakage.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit or otherwise spoilage of contents.
