Domaine Barons De Rothschild (Lafite) "Reserve Speciale" 2009 Pauillac 150cl
Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates. Lafite was listed as one of only four 1st Growths in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc - though sister-estate Ch.Mouton-Rothschild gained promotion from 2nd (2eme Cru) to 1st-Growth in 1973.
From the exceptional 2009 vintage, this bottle of Domaine Barons De Rothschild (Lafite) "Reserve Speciale" is made from grapes grown on younger vines within the historic vineyards of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. In years to come, these same vines shall produce the top wine of the estate.
Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation. Indeed, this "Magnum" presents a fantastic investment opportunity for cellaring top-quality Bordeaux from an iconic estate and superb vintage.
Please note there shall be a shipping charge for 2 bottles applied to this lot.
This bottle appears to be in excellent condition: label & foil/wax seal intact; cork/closure appears secure, no leakage.
The contents of this bottle appear to be of good colour and clarity.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit or otherwise spoilage of contents.
