Château La Conseillante
Named after Madame Catherine Conseillan who owned this estate from the mid 18th Century. The Château was purchased by Louis Nicolas in 1871 - whose initials adorn the crest on each bottle - with the 5th generation of the family wholly-owning and managing the estate today.
Château La Conseillante is sometimes considered to be an unofficial "Super-Second" wine of Pomerol. The wine is a blend of 80% Merlot to 20% Cabernet Franc from vines with an average age of 34 years, hand harvested and sorted, with 50-80% of the wine aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months.
